Solana prediction markets, explained

Why Solana’s speed and low fees make it a natural home for fast, small predictions, and how a live Solana prediction market like Oddrix actually works.

By the Oddrix team ·

A Solana prediction market is a market built on the Solana blockchain where you put SOL behind your call on a future event. Instead of just saying “I think this will happen”, you back it, and if you’re right you get paid. Solana adds two things that matter a lot for this: speed and very low fees.

This guide covers what a Solana prediction market is, why the chain is a good fit, what you need to take part, and the questions worth asking before you use any platform. It’s written by the team behind Oddrix, a live Solana prediction market for streamers. Our first markets cover every category of The Streamer Awards 2026.

What is a prediction market?

A prediction market asks a question about the future with a clear answer, like “Who will win Streamer of the Year?”, and lets people back the outcome they believe in. When the result is announced, correct calls are paid and wrong calls lose their stake.

Different platforms price those calls differently. Some use order books or pools where the odds move all the time. Oddrix uses fixed odds: every nominee pays 2.00x, and that’s locked in when your bet is accepted. For the full breakdown of prices, odds and payouts, read how prediction markets work.

What makes a prediction market “onchain”?

  • You use a crypto wallet instead of a username and password. Signing in is a free signed message, not a transaction.
  • Bets are real transactions that anyone can look up on a Solana explorer.
  • Your history is public and verifiable. On Oddrix, every bet is a single SOL transfer to the Oddrix treasury with a memo that records your pick, and the server checks it on-chain before it counts.

Onchain doesn’t automatically mean trustless. Someone still has to decide how each question resolves. On Oddrix, every market resolves solely on the official winners announced by The Streamer Awards, and the rules are published in our terms.

Why build a prediction market on Solana?

Fast confirmation

Solana confirms transactions in seconds. When you place a bet, it’s finalized and showing on your profile almost straight away, which makes a prediction market feel like an app rather than a waiting game.

Low fees make small bets practical

If network fees cost more than the bet, nobody makes small, casual calls. Solana fees are typically a fraction of a cent, so a 0.05 SOL prediction is realistic. That opens prediction markets to fans, not just big traders.

A mature wallet ecosystem

Phantom is the most popular Solana wallet, and it’s what Oddrix uses. Phantom shows you exactly what a transaction will do before you approve it: one SOL transfer to the treasury and one memo with your pick.

Culture fit

Solana is home to a big share of crypto’s fast, community-driven culture, the same energy you see in livestream chat. A streamer prediction market fits naturally there.

What you need to use a Solana prediction market

  1. Phantom. Install the browser extension or mobile app. Write your recovery phrase down offline and never share it with anyone. Oddrix will never ask for it.
  2. Some SOL on Solana mainnet. Oddrix bets are 0.05 to 50 SOL, plus a tiny network fee.
  3. A clear head. You must be 18+, prediction markets must be allowed where you live, and you should only stake what you can afford to lose.

How Oddrix works as a Solana prediction market

  • Singles at 2.00x. Pick a nominee in any of the 37 Streamer Awards categories. If they win, you get double your stake back in SOL.
  • Accumulators at 8x. Put three picks from three different categories on your slip. If all three win, you get 2 × 2 × 2 = 8x your stake. A voided category counts as 1x.
  • No pool and no fee on fixed-odds bets. What you see is what you get.
  • Limits. 0.05–50 SOL per bet and at most 400 SOL paid out on any single bet. Oddrix also caps its exposure per nominee and overall, so a very popular pick can become fully booked.
  • Payouts in SOL to the wallet that placed the bet, after the official results.

Popular markets to start with: Streamer of the Year, Gamer of the Year, Best IRL Streamer and Rising Star Award.

How Solana prediction markets compare with other platforms

Polymarket is a large crypto prediction market focused on news, politics and world events. Kalshi is a US exchange for event contracts regulated by the CFTC. Oddrix aims at a different corner: streamers and livestream culture, starting with the Streamer Awards, with simple fixed odds instead of a trading interface.

Questions to ask before you use any prediction market

  • How are outcomes resolved? Look for a named, official source.
  • What happens in edge cases? Look for written rules on cancellations, voids and refunds.
  • What are the fees and limits? Oddrix charges no fee on fixed-odds bets; you only pay the Solana network fee.
  • Is it available where you live? Prediction markets are restricted in some places.
  • Are the links official? Only use oddrix.fun and @OddrixHQ on X.
